Palace of Love and Happiness

Respected Kim Jong Un visited the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren´s Palace, a comprehensive extracurricular educational base for schoolchildren, in May Juche 103 or 2014. The palace is in Kwangbok Street of Pyongyang, the capital of Korea.

The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren´s Palace was inaugurated in May Juche 78 or 1989. The great leader President Kim Il Sung who participated in the inaugural ceremony expressed great satisfaction, saying the palace was very wonderful and it had been designed and built well.

The great leader Kim Jong Il was so concerned to give him such pleasure of the day. He said new schoolchildren´s palace should be built like palace where “kings” live. He examined the blueprint of the palace five times to complete it. So busy as he was, he made time for children and ensured that all things necessary were preferentially supplied to build the palace on the highest level. So the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren´s Palace was built on a modern basis with a unique architectural form, which seems to welcome children with arms open. The palace has hundreds of circle rooms and action rooms including science and technology circle room and music and art circle room, gymnasium, swimming pool and theater.

In the circle rooms, schoolchildren develop their talents according to their hobbies and aptitude and are growing to be future scientists, artists and sportspersons. The teaching staff of the palace consists of competent specialists. More than 5,000 schoolchildren are engaged in various extracurricular circles of the palace a day and prepared as pillars of the country with rich knowledge, high morality and strong physique.

Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren´s Palace associated with the noble outlook of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on the rising generations and stressed the need to rebuild the palace in line with the demand of the new century. It was a noble intention of Marshal Kim Jong Un to carry on the love of the great Generalissimos for the rising generations and future for all ages, who regarded the children as “kings” of the country. The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren´s Palace is a palace of love provided by the peerlessly great men and a palace of happiness where the schoolchildren fully realize their hopes.
