Kim Jong Un Inspects KPA Fishery Station

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), inspected Fishery Station No. 15 of the KPA.

The fishery station, which was remodeled and updated to meet the requirements of the age of knowledge-based economy and a highly civilized socialist nation, made an unprecedentedly big fish haul.

In November last year Kim Jong Un had inspected the fishery station.

At that time he highly praised the fishermen of the station for catching thousands of tons of fish in a few days, advancing the yearly goal to be attained by the station in catching fish in a short span of time.

He also personally initiated the project to turn the station into a modern fishery station and gave solution to all issues arising in doing so.

Thanks to the dynamic efforts made by the officials, employees and soldier-builders of KPA unit and the fishery station, it was successfully remodeled and made an unheard-of big fish haul.

Warmly shaking hands with the commanding officers of the unit and officials of the fishery station, he praised them for turning it into a modern one to be impeccable in the distant future while making a big fish haul.

On a fishing boat which returned to port with a big haul flag, he shook hands with its fishermen, highly praising their efforts.

Noting the 5th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il’s demise will be observed in a few days, Kim Jong Un said what comes across in his mind when he remembers Kim Jong Il whom he misses very much is the document on fish supply to the Pyongyang citizens signed by Kim Jong Il at night of the last day of his great life, adding he read the document several times that day, too, and visited the KPA fishery station as he thought that Kim Jong Il would be pleased if fish caught by the KPA would be sent to the Pyongyang citizens.

Going round various places of the station, he learned in detail about the progress made in its updating, fish catching, storage and supply.

Watching the employees working at the processing workshop, he indicated the tasks to put all the processing processes on a high streamlined and robotized basis and thus save manpower and strictly ensure hygiene.

Feasting his eyes on the bales of frozen fish piled up high, he said with a broad smile that he was very pleased and felt relieved of his pent-up fatigue after being told that 200 grams of fish can be supplied to each soldier every day until September next year with fish in storage.

At the combined control room, he learned in detail about the systems of maritime environment information analysis and assessment, maritime commanding, fish processing equipment control and observation of electricity.

He went round the room for the education in the revolutionary history, the room dedicated to the history of the fishery station, the cultural hall, the sci-tech knowledge dissemination room and the sanatorium.

Noting all production buildings and leisure facilities were designed well and built in high quality and fishermen would like them very much, he said that he would make sure that dwellings for the employees of the station would be excellently built next year.

He gave the station instructions to be served as guidelines for its management and operation.

Noting that he went round the fishery station with satisfaction, he said that he became more firmly convinced through the remarkable successes made in the field of fishery of the KPA this year that the history of big fish hauls can be given steady continuity.

Expressing expectation and belief that the officials and employees of Fishery Station No. 15 of the KPA would take the lead in carrying out the fishing policy of the Party by catching more fish next year, too, he had a photo session with them.

He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and Army Col. General So Hong Chan, first vice-minister of the People’s Armed Forces.
