Kim Jong Un Provides Field Guidance to Chonapho Fishery Institute

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, gave field guidance to the Chonapho Fishery Institute.

He said that, entering the institute, he missed very much leader Kim Jong Il who visited it two times, the last one in the year 2011, the last period of his life, adding that the institute was one of the precious legacies he left for the people.

Proposing the erection of the monument to the field guidance of Kim Jong Il in the compound of the institute to hand down it to posterity, he personally chose its site and named the institute the Chonapho Fishery Institute.

He looked round different places including artificial insemination room, roe development room, indoor and outdoor fish ponds, food processing shop and fish processing factory and set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by the institute.

Noting that what is essential for fish breeding is breeding fries, water and food, he underscored the need to intensify the research into species of fishes growing faster with less food, solve the issue of water fit for fish breeding and realize the local production of fish food.

He also underlined the need to select young and able talents and assign them to the institute, consolidate the science and technology dissemination base and work hard to actively introduce advanced science and technology.

He instructed the institute to boost the production of varieties of processed fishes.

He underscored the need for the institute to properly set the fish processing methods and varieties of processed fishes according to species of fishes as it is fully equipped with modern fish processing facilities, and produce quality processed fishes meeting the taste of people.

He stressed that to this end it was important for the officials and employees of the institute to steadily raise their responsibility and the level of their technical skills and meticulously manage equipment.

Calling for turning the area where the institute is located into a fishery village befitting the appearance of the highly civilized socialist state, he took benevolent measures to do so.

He repeatedly instructed the institute to achieve successes in researches into fish breeding and keep production going at a high rate.

He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the KPA General Political Bureau, and Han Kwang Sang, department director of the C.C. the WPK.
