Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, visited the exhibition of utensils and tools, finishing building materials and sci-tech achievements organized by the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces.
Displayed there were 131 620 utensils and tools and finishing building materials of 550 varieties made at the construction units and building materials producers of the Korean People’s Army and more than 530 scientific and technological achievements.
Going round the exhibition, Kim Jong Un said that the exhibition has undergone radical changes, compared with the exhibition of utensils and tools two years ago and presents a unique scenery in the golden age of construction and that a great revolution has been brought out in construction.
Exhibits are suited to the constitution of Koreans and are easy to handle, and the building materials and fixtures and furniture are abundant in varieties and high in quality, he said, calling for a vigorous struggle to increase the proportion of locally available building materials and make them diverse in shape and style, variety and color as required by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The masses have inexhaustible power and wisdom and can make anything if they have a will, he said, urging the officials not to think about purchase of building equipment and materials from other countries but to create and make them in our own style. He underscored the need for society to learn from the fighting spirit and work style displayed by the service personnel.
Saying that the exhibition marks an important occasion in adding luster to the golden age of construction, the Supreme Leader set forth the tasks to be carried out in the field of construction.
Accompanying him were KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and director of the KPA General Political Bureau; Army General Pak Yong Sik, minister of the People’s Armed Forces of the DPRK; and Army Lieut. General Kim Jong Gwan, vice-minister of the People’s Armed Forces.
