Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition Opens

The Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia exhibition opened in Pyongyang with due ceremony at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition on July 23 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

The venue of the exhibition was decorated with flowers praising the sun and various kinds of other rare flowers. Displayed in the venue were pictures of smiling Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

On display at the exhibition were more than 20 000 potted Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia flowers cultivated with all sincerity by many units including armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), overseas Koreans, missions of different countries and international bodies here, friendly and solidarity organizations and individuals of different countries.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, officials concerned, officials of the units who presented flowers, service personnel and participants in the exhibition.

Also present there were a congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan led by Hong In Hum, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, a delegation of the General Association of Koreans in China led by Chairwoman Choe Un Bok and other overseas Koreans’ delegations, overseas Koreans and foreigners. They came here to participate in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war.

Kim Chang Do, chairman of the Korean Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, in an opening address said that the exhibition is a flower garden which reflects the boundless reverence of the service personnel and people of the DPRK and the progressive mankind for Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He said that Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia, famous flowers named after the great Generalissimos, are national treasures of Songun Korea that give a great pride and honor to the service personnel and people of the DPRK.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the flowers on display.
