Kyongsong Magnolia, Natural Monument.

This tree is found in Haonpho Town, Kyongsong District, North Hamgyong Province.

It is a broad-leaved tree that belongs to the magnolia family. This type of tree is rare in the northern region of Korea.

It has a height of 17 m. a perimeter of the root neck of 1.7 m and a crown width of 10 m. In April, it produces a large white flower at each end of the branches before the leaves.

The 7 or 8 cm long sepal and petal are oval in shape and are not distinguished in size and color. The fruits are oval in shape with several pods and in autumn their color is red-brown.

Such a tree with pleasant flowers and leaves makes the surrounding landscape stand out.
