May Day Marked across Country

The Korean people significantly marked May Day, international holiday of the working people all over the world.

Celebrations took place in the capital and local areas.

Performances were given by the national art troupes at theatres, in pleasure grounds and other places in the capital city.

A music and dance performance of the Mansudae Art Troupe for celebrating May Day was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre.

The dance suite “Ours is the greatest strength” was given by the National Folk Art Troupe at the Ponghwa Art Theatre.

The revolutionary drama “Celebrations” was performed at the National Theatre.

Colorful acrobatic and jugglery pieces were staged by the artistes of the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Mangyongdae Amusement Park, the Pyongyang Circus Theater and the Magic Theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe.

The artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe also gave a performance conspicuous for the melodies, tunes and dances peculiar to the Korean nation at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph.

Colorful events including meetings for congratulating innovators and performances took place at industrial establishments.

Agricultural workers in farms across the country felt worth of leading a genuine labor life and enjoying a high socialist civilization, playing colorful sports and amusement games including football, basketball, volleyball, tug-of-war and yut-game.
