The National Accreditation Association (NAA) of the DPRK, founded in April 2002, is a standing organ which engages in conformity assessment of all authentication bodies of the country.
The association gives certification to the auditing and registering bodies, testing and analytical laboratories and product authentication bodies and undertakes regular control of those bodies, and evaluation and registration of assessors.
It has under its control the sectoral authentication institutions for environment, quality and maritime affairs.
With the main stress on building up the qualifications of its members, it carries on publicity to accreditation and consultation service.
Im Yong Sik, secretary-general of the association, said they would make steady efforts to promote cooperation and exchange with other countries while maintaining scientific accuracy, impartiality and objectivity in their work in line with international standards and methods.
