National Folk Art Troupe Performs in Dandong, China

Dandong, October 12 (KCNA Correspondent) — The National Folk Art Troupe gave a performance at a stadium in Dandong, China from October 10 to 12 to mark the 2nd DPRK-China Economic, Trade, Cultural and Tourism EXPO.

Among the audience were Vice-Governor Bing Zhigang and other personages and people of Liaoning Province and the city, Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials and diplomatic envoys accredited to the DPRK.

Also watching the performance were members of the DPRK delegation of the EXPO led by Hong Kil Nam, vice-chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial People’s Committee, Kim Kwang Hun, DPRK consul-general in Shenyang, and Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the General Association of Koreans in China.

The performance began with the playing of immortal revolutionary hymn “Song of General Kim Il Sung.” Put on the stage were colorful numbers such as female solo “Cantata to Comrade Kim Jong Il”, male solo “Do Prosper, Era of the Workers’ Party”, song and dance “Wild Rose” and male quintet “It Is Offensive.”

The performers truthfully represented the boundless reverence for President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who made tangible contribution to the development of the traditional DPRK-China friendly relations and the accomplishment of the cause of global independence, and the DPRK bringing into reality the people’s desire under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

They also presented Chinese songs reflective of the emotion of the Chinese people.

A floral basket was presented to the performers in congratulation of their successful performance. -0-
