Pyongyang Ice Sculpture Festival-2017 Opens

There opened in Kim Il Sung Square on December 31 2016 the Pyongyang Ice Sculpture Festival-2017 in celebration of the New Year.

On display in the festival venue are scores of ice sculptures made by the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, Ministry of Public Health, General Bureau of Public Service, Mansudae Art Studio, Pyongyang Municipality People’s Committee and other units.

Those ice sculptures depicting Mt Paektu, Chairman Kim Jong Il’s birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, and the Arch of Triumph impressively show the army and people’s yearning and reverence for President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

There are also sculptures on the theme of the self-development-first spirit and those vividly showing the reality of Juche Korea.

Officials of ministries and national agencies, working people youth and schoolchildren in Pyongyang went round the venue.

The festival continues.
