A modern dental care centre—Ryugyong Dental Hospital—has recently been built in the Munsu area of Taedonggang District, Pyongyang.
The three-storied hospital boasts of its unique style and high formative and artistic level.
It has scores of state-of-the-art universal dental chairs and all the material and technical foundations for the prevention and treatment of dental diseases. It can accommodate several hundred patients a day.
In the checkup and first-aid departments the patients receive on-screen service.
At the X-ray department teeth images obtained through panoramic radiograph camera are sent to relevant treatment rooms and teeth correction service is also rendered at a high level.
The hospital has also a complete set of apparatuses for dental prosthesis.
It has separate treatment rooms and amusement facilities and wading pool for children.
It also runs rooms for medical information dissemination and technical exchange and a shop for hygienic goods.
Every corner of the hospital, ranging from floors to walls and ceilings, has been arranged in a gorgeous and refined manner. The spacious central hall marked by the sharp contrast between pale yellow tiles and granite pieces is so glossy that it makes visitors feel as if they were looking into a mirror. The ceiling lamps which look like twinkling stars create a splendid scene.
The grassland and circular flowerbeds in the compound of the hospital add beauty to its clear environment.
Marshal Kim Jong Un, who successfully carries forward the noble intentions of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, initiated the plan to build the hospital. He energetically led the efforts to complete the project at the highest standard and named it Ryugyong Dental Hospital.
