Youth and Students Meet with War Veteran

Youth and students in Pyongyang had a meeting with a war veteran at the Central Youth Hall on July 24 to mark the 64th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Labour Hero Jon Ku Gang, a lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, addressed the meeting.

The V-day make people recall the feats President Kim Il Sung performed by beating back with his distinguished military idea and superb strategy and tactics the US imperialists who boasted of being “the strongest” in the world, the lecturer said.

She noted that during the hard-fought war the surgeons and nurses of the Korean People’s Army displayed matchless self-sacrificing spirit and devotion, true to the noble intention of the President who bestowed boundless love for the soldiers of the People’s Army.

As long as there are the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, incredible military power and single-minded unity, victory belongs to us, she said, calling on the youth and students to give fullest play to their wisdom and bravery in the defence of the country and the building of a powerful socialist nation.

She was followed by speeches.

Speakers expressed their will to be human bullets and bombs defending Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, bearing in mind the spirit of defending the leader unto death, the spirit of defending the country displayed by the revolutionary forerunners.

They stressed that they would fully display the might of a contingent of warriors for implementing the cause of Juche revolution trained under the peerless great persons of Mt Paektu and win the final victory of July 27 without fail, if a war breaks out. Attending the meeting were Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the central committee of the youth league, and league officials.
